This season on the living out love podcast, we are focusing on you, who you are, what motivates you, what you're here to contribute, and how you can expand will be utilizing my leadership skills and spiritual connection. diving deep into the Enneagram and astrology. Listen every week to become intimately aware of yourself, only then can heal and grow. Let's get to work loves.
Hello, loves we are doing this episode a bit different today. And by “we” I mean me. I have pages and pages of notes that I took that I'm gonna reference. And then I'm gonna, you know, wing it after that. Um, I'm recording this weeks after Hurricane barrel came through. So, I'm a little bit behind on my, of my podcast planning. So that's why we were getting notes today. I was thinking last night about, you know, what do I want to talk about on this week's podcast? And I've been thinking in my life, about all the times in which I felt like I got the answer.
You know, we can struggle with something, what to do next? Or why is life so hard? Like we can mentally be struggling with something. And then you get the, quote, download, or the wisdom somehow. And I was replaying in my mind some of those moments that have happened for me. And I realized that it's always as if the answer comes from myself. Sometimes not always, sometimes a lot of the time. Sometimes I will hear things psychically as a nudge from spirit, or, especially if I'm, you know, doing mediumship, then that's not deaf. That's definitely not coming from me. But a lot of times, when I'm questioning something, I already do have the answer.
I just need to be my own audience. So that's what I want to talk about today, I want to talk about the concept of being your own audience. You know, this season of living out love, I've been really thinking about the individual, like, it's all about you who you are. And I'm coming at that today from the idea of working with your wisdom, that as a spirit you have had, we don't know how long you've even been around, right? And you've had lifetimes experiences, who knows, we don't we don't really even know where you work well, before you were born into this body. Well, we all came in with stuff. We all came in with preferences with things that we like that light us up and things that we don't like, and those things came from somewhere. So, we don't even know where a lot of our wisdom comes from. But we know that we have it. And so that's what I want to talk about today. We have this wisdom. And we also have human wisdom. We're smart beings with memories, and that can read and make assumptions and parallels and inferences. And so, we have the wisdom that we've gotten in this lifetime, as well as what we came in with, and what we'd accrued, you know, outside of our memory. So that wisdom is accessible to us through our highest self. And I know this phrase gets used a lot, I have an episode on the highest self and how I define it. If you're curious, you go listen to that I will link it in the show notes. So, I believe our highest self is that version of us that is 100% connected to God. It's the part of us that's not beholden to ego. It's not beholden outside opinion, is the part of us that's 100% connected to our soul and to God source spirit energy. There is always a part of us that is connected as we are these energetic beings that come from source.
And we cannot be separated from that. So, our highest self is that part of us that's connected, and we can embody it. Sometimes. It's harder to embody than just to connect with in meditation and in contemplation, but it's part possible. And sometimes for me that highest self-voice, it will just sort of drop in. You know, like, I'll be driving, and I'll think, oh, I know that, you know, I'll be I'll be in my, you know, busy mom entrepreneur mind going, oh, have I done this? Am I doing this? I don't think Oh, what am I? What am I going to do and, and I'll be you know doing the spin. And then I'll hear my highest self say something. Maybe you did that already? Or Amy, you got plenty of time.
And then my busy mom brain will be like, oh, yeah, I forgot I don't have that meeting on Wednesday. Oh, yeah, plenty of time. And our highest self can drop in like that. Did you know? If not, you know, now your highest self can drop in a part of you that knows that part of you that is untouched by fear by trauma by stress, that part of you can drop in sometimes. I'm shifting in my notes now. So, we've got your highest self, this whole episodes about wisdom? How do you access your wisdom, I'm proposing that a large way of accessing it is through connecting with your highest self. Well, the highest self, as I said, is the part that's completely connected to spirit. And our vast awareness is the part of us that's just on this rocket See, Earth IX 21st century experience in all its glory. So, it's easy to get caught up in that. We came here on Earth. We came here to learn. We came here to practice. And we came here to remember what we already knew.
And solidify that knowing our soul, by the practice of it, in this challenging experience that as being a human on Earth in the 21st century. So, in other words, we came here to work with our wisdom to develop our wisdom. And yes, that's not the only thing we came here to experience love and transcendence. And it's not the only thing. But it is often an overlooked aspect of being a soul and a human body. We didn't come here just to start from scratch. I didn't come here just to be Amy Hageman. I came here to be Amy Hageman. And to carry forward that which my soul has accumulated before I became Amy Hageman. To carry forward to practice to demonstrate, to tap into that wisdom that my soul did whatever it had to do to learn. We're experiential beings. We learn through experience much more so than we learn or reading or watching. And I love this phenomenon, this idea of remembering your wisdom. It's sort of a common thing you might see interviews with some, you know, child that's particularly talented at playing piano or something. And people say, well, how did you learn that so fast? And also, how do I know? I just did it just made sense to me? I don't know.
Maybe his soul learned it before, perhaps. Or maybe there has been multiple lifetimes. And I'm not saying that every talented phenomenon is somebody that's had multiple lifetimes of whatever their talent is. But it is common that we come in with character traits that we have developed. Because we want to build our wisdom and so we're not going to start from scratch every single lifetime. We start in some areas of familiarity so that we can build on our wisdom are knowing our practice of what is it to be a Divine Being in a human world that is challenging? What is it to try to remain connected to spirit when it is so easy to get swept up in fear and lack and honestly even compassion sometimes compassion is what drags us down. It is so easy to look at all that goes on in the world have a huge swell of compassion, and then just plummet into despair. It's easy that compassion can be a tipping point, it can take you to God or it could take you right to despair. So, we came into practice, to remember our wisdom.
And now let me get back to this concept of being your own audience. First two concepts were your higher self that your highest self can drop in and give you intuition. Second concept being that we're here to work with our wisdom. It's one of the reasons why we came to remember that which we already know. And I was thinking about being your own audience because of what has happened in my lifetime. A lot of times, unconsciously, when I'm struggling with something. My imagination will sort of go to me as a facilitator and a teacher, because that's my background. And my imagination will take me to some room where I'm facilitating something. And somebody asked me a question indirectly related to what the real-life Amy Hageman was struggling with, and in my imagination that Amy Hageman says, oh, it's Yatta, Yatta, yatta, pearls of wisdom. And then I'll kind of step out of my imagination and go, oh, yeah, I knew that. I knew that. A lot of the time, we have the answer. But we haven't asked ourselves the question. We tend to ask existential questions; we tend to ask questions that we don't actually want answers to. Why is life so hard? We don't want an answer to that. We want it to be easier. That that's what we do, we will ask questions that we do not want answers to. Because what we really want is for the situation to change, rather than sitting in a question and saying, okay, I'm in this situation I don't want to be in. And I'm in this situation with people that I don't really enjoy. But I don't see a way out of the situation. Okay, self. What's my next step? If you come to that moment of acceptance, and you actually ask yourself a question that you want an answer to? Or need an answer to. You will be amazed at what will come through, whether it's through a daydream, or through a download, or just your own brain's brilliance. But you have to ask yourself the question first.
So, imagine that you're on stage. You, your actual human self, you're on stage. Because life has a performance, right? And maybe you're, you know, maybe you're an actor, maybe you're a dancer, but whatever you're doing, you're on stage. And all of a sudden, you forget the line. Or you forget the choreography. Or everybody on stage is moving left and you feel like you're supposed to move right, but you don't see how to how to maneuver that. That's when you say Alright, I gotta invite myself on stage.
I'm going to take a seat. Me Amy Hageman. You your brain, your ego, take a seat. Clear the stage of all the things that you think are important. Typically, it's all the people you think are important. What's my boss gonna do? What so and so we're gonna think get those people off the stage.
Invite your higher self and think about you know, the Enneagram Suzanne Stabile says, the problem with you is that you are your type. Since it's me we're gonna say to the problem with Amy is that she's a two most wonderful godlike thing about Amy's that she's a two. So, within Amy lies some really upsetting week. guesses, but also the ability to turn those into huge divine strengths. That's what the Enneagram says, astrology, it says you're here to live your chart, your whole chart,
your chart is going to show you all it's hard for you. And it's also going to show you the answer. Your chart is going to show you all the things’ people don't like about you. And it's also going to show you the answer. Of course, a miracle says, remember that the Holy Spirit is the answer, not the question. The ego always speaks first.
So, remember that the Holy Spirit which for some of you that just take it as source energy. That Holy Spirit's inside you, goes through you, it's around you, the Holy Spirit's everywhere it's inside you. And we tend to let the ego speak. That's happening constantly.
The question is, are we letting spirit answer? Are you letting your own wisdom answer that question? within you is the opportunity for healing, clarity, inspiration that comes from your soul that comes from your experiences that is all within you all the time. But it's your job to ask the question of yourself? No, I am not saying that you know the answer to everything. And I'm not saying psychics know the answer to everything. But I am saying you have more wisdom than you can consciously be aware of. And you have more wisdom than you are tapping into I guarantee it. It is a lot.
In my mind, it's a lot pure, I kind of want to say cleaner. I'm not quite sure which word it is I'm going for but to find the answer within yourself, rather than looking for it outside of yourself. And listen, I asked myself questions all the time. And then I don't get answers. And then I do go and look. And then I think God that the answer was out there for me somewhere. But you've come to know yourself in this incarnation and improve yourself expand your soul in this incarnation? And the answer is in the question. You just have to ask yourself, to invite your higher self in, go into the audience and ask a question. Hey, Mr. Speaker on stage, what do I do?
Your Holy Spirit's gonna come in, it's gonna say first, you need to take a deep breath, you haven't been breathing today, you take a deep breath, your stress is gonna go down, you'll be able to think clearer. A lot of times the highest self-starts with that basic stuff. Because you are a human being and you do have to work on that level.
And then some other answers will come through the highest self is the part of you that knows. Forgiveness is not about them. Forgiveness is for you. Your highest self is the part of you that knows. If you do not take care of yourself, at some point, you're gonna burn out. And then nobody else can take care of you. Really. That's your job. Your highest self knows that. We might get lost in its Oh, so and so on. I'll be happy when they do this. your highest self knows that's human stuff. You'll be happy when you choose to be happy. That's exactly what you're going to be happy. When you just decide when you listen to your highest self say, Well, now's a good time. We could do it now. You're not ready yet. Okay. How about now? And the thing is, the spiritual side of us this part of us that has access to this divine wisdom. It's not a judging voice. So sometimes people will come to me, and they'll say Oh, I was talking to my guides, or I was talking my higher self, and they were given they were you know being rough on me or they were, you know, given me what for that's how you know your ego is still in the room.
it's not to say that your highest self isn't a part of that conversation. But your ego still in the room if you feel as though you're paying for your foolishness in some way. Or that spirit is somehow entertained by your quote failures in life, like that's not, that's not your highest self. So, get, get your ego out of there. So, when there are times when I feel absolutely stuck?
I do I start with myself. Let me be clear, once I'm ready for answers, I start with myself. When I'm not ready for answers. I start with my friends. And I just complain, and woe is me. And life is hard. And I don't know what to do next. You know, I'll say that before I've really even thought about it. I'll just complain.
Then when I'm ready to stop suffering, when I've decided I've suffered enough, it's time to move forward. That's the moment that I switch. And I say, all right, hi, yourself. What next? What now? Come in, talk to me, I'm opening up for you to come in. What wisdom have you got?
Sometimes it's going to be things that are so obvious. And you might even have a parallel Oh, this is just like the thing that happened to me in college. And I tried. You know, I tried being obtuse and that didn't work. And this time, I'm going to try being specific. Sometimes, you'll see those patterns within your actual human memory. And sometimes you won't, you'll just say, well, I've never been in this situation before. But this is what I feel like my intuition, the part of me that's not afraid. The part of me that's not attached to outcome that knows that I will forever be okay that there is love everywhere that all outcomes are good outcomes, like that part of me thinks this is the way I should go.
Whether that's the path of least resistance, or it's the most direct path, whatever it is, that part of me that is so connected to God that it's not aware of ego and fear and poverty. That part of me is saying, hey, man, you got plenty of time. Don't worry about it. You don't even have to make a decision.
This isn't even a thing you have to make a decision about you got all the time you just forgot. My human brain wouldn't have gotten there. Because my human brain was so busy and chaos and time, lack and all of that. It wasn't until I took a breath. And I said, all right, highest self you come in, and I'm gonna listen. One of my favorite lines and of course in miracles is I'm willing to see this differently. And a lot of times I say that before I actually mean it. And then I'll say it again. And then I'll say it again, and then I'll mean it. And when I really get willing to see this differently, I'm asking to see it from the highest self-perspective. That part of me is Jesus is your savior, your mentor, insert word here.
That part of you that knows how to do that the knows how to be one with God and human form. That part of you will have an answer it will come in if you ask the question, if you be the audience for that wisdom and I do want to say you know earlier I said the answers are inside you. And a lot of times they are but I do want to reiterate that it's not a bad thing to ask for help. It's not a bad thing to seek guidance. Those are wonderful things that I encourage all the time. The part of what you came here to do is to grow and to heal.
And you already know how to do that. A lot of that time when we think we don't know how to do it, we are just more committed to our suffering than we are to our transformation. We are more committed to the egos perspective on life than we are to welcoming our highest self-wisdom. And that's okay. We're human, that's what we're here to do. But I want to encourage your awareness you are this complicated, expansive, amazing, energetic being.
And in this lifetime, you also have an ego and a body and fear and aches and pains. And so, in this lifetime, the great opportunity is to be your own audience. You didn't come here without the tools that you need. You came here with all the tools that you need. And so, when you ask your highest self, if your highest self doesn't have the answer, your highest self is gonna say, you know, Amy, do you really need to go see? so and so?
You know, Amy, tonight's a night that you need to meditate and go to bed early. There are of course, times when you are not going to get the answer to your question. But if you open yourself up to being the audience of spirit, you're no longer on the stage. You're in the audience and you're observing life. And you say, someone else get up there and tell me what's next. Show me that dance movement. Show me that scene again.
How would you do it? Once you've considered that wisdom, then you get back on stage and you take a swing at it. But be your own audience first. By your own audience, I mean, be the audience of your highest self. You have everything that you need. You came here with it. You have everything you need to do what it is that you are here to do. And your highest self, it's your lifeline to spirit, to divine wisdom to infinite potential to the amazing, inspired ideas that we get to that ability to that we line up with these quote synchronicities and miracles that happen. That's, that is your highest self that gets you there. That part of you that we deem unconscious unconsciously we chose whatever we chose.
And somehow it worked out amazingly well, no, that wasn't unconscious, that was your highest, so you have everything that you need. And it's it is so wonderful to get support.
Whatever that looks like for you, whether that's a mentor, or a counselor or a book, I mean, whatever that looks like, it's so wonderful, it gets support. But don't skip this step of asking yourself, you know, what do I already know about this that would help me what wisdom do I have that would help me?
And then sit back and listen. Be the audience put down the act of being insert your name and your place? I'm going to put down the act of being Amy Hageman in Houston, Texas and I'm just going to ask spirit what now helped me to see this differently. So that's what I got for you today loves. For me. I like the concept of the audience because of my teacher facilitator coach background. The end, you know, I also I'm a Capricorn moon I kind of like authority. So, I like the idea of learning from somebody behind a podium. For you, that might not be the right metaphor. So being in the audience doesn't make sense or work for you. Cool. The part that's important is my encouragement that you know a lot more than you give yourself credit for If you haven't taken the time to ask, maybe that's habit. Maybe that's that you don't believe in yourself you've relinquished your power. Or maybe you're just tied to your own suffering. Maybe you're scared to venture into the unknown.
Or whatever it is. It's time to ask. You have everything that you need already, your soul came in ready to go. The Enneagram type. What's terrible, terrible about you is also what's great about you. Your astrology chart, it has your problems written all over it.
And it also has the answer. Your ego has your problems written all over it. And your highest self that part of you that's connected to spirit has the answer. Be willing to see it differently. All right, I love you everybody.
